Music Mondays: Florence and the Machine

There have been so many great shows at The Pavilion this season, but I have to say that I'm most excited to see Florence and the Machine. I've been a huge fan for quite some time and if you're at the concert on Saturday night, you'll become one too.

Led by Florence Welch, Florence and the Machine is a combination of soul and rock. However, it's unfair to limit it to one or two genres. The music is heavy-hitting, powerful, and haunting.

I first heard "Cosmic Love" when I was going video to video on YouTube, discovering new artists. I was immediately hooked on Flo's voice, so I listened to the entire Lungs album. Song after song I was impressed by her vocal ability and the epicness of the songs. (There really is no other way to describe some of the songs except as epic.)

My favorite:  It's hard to narrow it down to just one, but right now "Shake It Out" seems to be constantly stuck in my head.

Underrated: "Howl" is a great song that doesn't get enough credit!

You can catch Florence and the Machine with The Maccabees at The Pavilion on September 29, this Saturday. Tickets are still available, but going quickly!
