Get Involved in Children's Festival

Get Involved!

The 20th Annual Children’s Festival at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion is just days away! If you enjoy your experience of the Festival this weekend and want to become more involved in the magic next year, there are plenty of opportunities for you. It’s never too early to plan for your involvement in next year’s Children’s Festival.

Teachers: bring your elementary school students on a one-of-a-kind field trip to The Pavilion! School days of Children’s Festival provide an opportunity for classes to be immersed in the arts with live performances and hands-on activities. School day activities are not open to the public, and therefore allow your students to take full advantage of everything the Festival has to offer. Registration for next year’s school days will begin with the commencement of the new school year in August/September and is available to all districts, including private and homeschools. Check The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion website for registration details.

Community Stage Performers
On the Community Stage in the North Plaza, area fine arts groups dazzle Festival goers with unique performances between main stage acts. Applications to perform on the Community Stage in the North Plaza are gathered a few months before the Festival. Previous performance types include dance, step, clogging, and more. If your child’s fine arts organization is interested in taking the stage, email us for additional information about next year’s lineup.

Characters & Mascots
The 2015 Children’s Festival hosted Meet & Greets with Star Wars characters from the 501st Legion, Barbie and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in addition to the Main Stage performers. Also roaming around the grounds of the Festival were countless mascots from local businesses and teams, including the Chick-Fil-A Cows, H-E-Buddy and Clutch “The Rockets Bear.” If you are interested in including your characters in the festivities next year, email us.

If you and/or your organization are enthusiastic about helping to make the Festival happen, we are looking for volunteers just like you! Any community members can volunteer at Children’s Festival—school days or weekend days. We traditionally host volunteers from neighboring businesses, high school extra-curricular programs, students and staff of Lone Star College, individuals, and more. To become a volunteer, email Leslie Williams.

Throughout the Plazas and numerous activity areas at Children’s Festival, vendors are stationed at booths with interactive games and crafts for Festival goers as well as information about their businesses. The purpose of these booths is to showcase the extra-curricular activities available to children in The Woodlands/Houston area. If you’re interested in having a fun children’s booth at the Festival, email us.

Children’s Festival would not be possible without the generosity of the many companies and organizations that make donations in support of The Pavilion’s mission. Past sponsors are listed on our website, and current sponsors are featured in the event program. To become a corporate sponsor of Children’s Festival, email Christine Scully.

Children’s Festival Committee
The Children’s Festival Committee plays a large part in planning every detail of the Festival. If you are passionate about Children’s Festival, The Pavilion and/or arts and education, you are welcome to apply your talents to this committee. **Members of the committee must already be members of The Pavilion Partners, official volunteer organization of The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion. For information about becoming a Partner, click here.

Fun takes center stage at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s Annual Children’s Festival. Entertainment spans from local community recitals and popular children’s performers to a wide variety of activities that are located in the different zones, so every child will find something for them.

Tickets for this year’s Children’s Festival (Saturday, Nov. 14 & Sunday, Nov. 15) are $8 in advance and $10 when gates open. Purchase yours at or The Pavilion’s Box Office, located at 2005 Lake Robbins Dr. The Woodlands, TX. Come out and play at The Pavilion, where learning is fun!
